Our Learning Centre
At Henley School we believe that the library is the heart of the school, a vibrant place of discovery. Our Learning Centre was opened in August 2004 by the Prime Minister Helen Clark. It comprises:
All children visit the Library once a week with their class, as well as being encouraged to use it at lunchtimes. Your support can be given by reading to your children, giving home training in the care of library books, and helping ensure that they return their books each week. Our library is well stocked and all staff, from our principal down, are fully supportive and pro-active in encouraging our students to develop a love of reading and to feel comfortable in the library environment whether reading for pleasure or researching a topic. Notes for Parents
Each class comes to the library once a week to
exchange their books. Please remind your Junior child to bring their book on
that day each week - the Middle and Senior children should be remembering for
themselves! Please feel free to come and see me at any time, especially if you are hunting for a library book and your child is worried about getting in trouble! (Been there, done that.) Miss Tillson
